As an avid roller skater, and one who frequently travels, finding good rinks has not been easy. Most rinks do not have web sites, and even the sites that supply lists of available rinks are either difficult to navigate, or only provide an e-mail address—which tells me nothing about the rink or the sessions. Even when phone numbers are provided, I really don't want to have to call a half dozen (or more) rinks to find the session I'm looking for.

I often thought how great it would be if there was a single site that I could access to find rinks and their schedules all across the country. Since there wasn't one, I decided to take on the project. Well, here it is!

Skaters

Skate Central Online has the most complete listing of skating rinks anywhere on the web, but there are still some rinks that may be missing from our list, If your favorite rink(s) is not listed on this site, go to the Add a Rink page, fill out the form and submit it. We will add the rink to the directory, then contact the rink owner and ask if they'd like their session calendars to be added to the site. In the mean time, tell the rink owners and managers about Skate Central Online and tell them you're looking forward to seeing their session calendar posted.

Remember, the rink you recommend does not have to be local to where you live. If you travel, as I do, you may have rinks in other states or regions you'd like to promote. By all means, submit those rinks too. Ultimately, our goal is to have as many roller rinks as possible all over the country participating, but I need everyone's help.

Rink Owners/Managers

Initially this site was built as a simple way for skaters to find ANY session ANYwhere in the country from just one simple-to-navigate site. But as the site progressed, a more important project emerged: a service for to Rink owners and managers to promote their rinks. Since it's inception, traffic to the site has consistently grown 50% each month-by word of mouth alone!

Because Skate Central Online is an online resource, it is the most effective means of reaching a new, internet-savvy, generation of skaters. Skate Central Online can not only help you promote your unique sessions, but also your special events, pro shop, private party room, skate lessons, skate clubs, competitive skating and the like. In short, Skate Central Online's mission is to keep the love of roller skating alive and to create a renewed interest in the sport we all love.

Every rink is included in the general listing; however, it is the Detailed Listing that guarantees your rink maximum exposure.

Here's how it works:

First, a Rink Detail page is created exclusively for your rink containing detailed information about your rink, a monthly session calendar, directions, and an optional form that will allow visitors to e-mail you, or to be added to a mailing list.

If you already have a web site, a link to your site will be included in the Rink Detail page. If you do not have a web site, the Rink Detail page will provide anyone searching for a place to skate, all the details on what your rink has to offer. (We also offer web services for those who would like a site created for their rink or a makeover for an existing site.)

The next step is to list your rink sessions on the appropriate calendars. For instance, if you have Adult sessions, those sessions will appear on the "Adult Session" page calendar for your state. Your Family sessions will appear on the "Family Session" page, etc. This way, someone looking for only an adult session or a family session doesn't have to wade through a dozen other rink schedules (or web sites) and possibly not discover that you have the session they're looking for.

When you have special events, they will be posted on the "Special Events" page. Club meets and competitions will be posted likewise. You can even choose to have us create a special page promoting your event. (One month's advance notice would be required)

All calendars and listings will be kept current; updating your calendar of activities monthly, as needed.
